Kiss

Oh that wonderful night how we danced
Holding each other tightly entranced.
There under the palms, we stole a kiss
Seriously pledged our future bliss.

I whispered softly, kiss me it's free,
As the moon rose shining before me
As the soft breeze wafting such fragrance
Face blushing, a brilliant appearance.
Our life began to change. I came home
Too late. Her fine hair needed a comb.
Gone were her lovely dresses. No smiles.
No night kisses, her gaze lost in miles.

A year passed and she filed for divorce.
It came to me like an ugly force.
I went home as quickly as I could.
Needed a talk to be understood.

I came home and saw her heart crying.
It implied as if she was dying.
Her old dress was ragged and threadbare,
Dishevelled hair and needed repair.

I ran to her. On my knees, I cried.
Forgive me please, I was terrified.
The next day I resigned from my post
Took her to a shop, I knew her host.

A change of clothes and a great hairdo,
Then to a lunch to sustain her too.
A job found, fixed hours with holidays
Our new life was changed in pleasing ways.

We went for picnics and nature walks
We began to kiss, and have long talks,
She kissed and said, "We'll soon have a boy."
We kissed, hugged, danced elated for joy.

A lovely story Victor, the message tells one to never give up on love, a lot of loving attention is all it needs, and kisses too I believe… Belle

I like the verse, "kiss me it's free", turn sad with her unhappiness. But found the right medicine took her shopping and a new do. Great ending. Friends for ever

Great poem....! Though began on a happy note, storm clods gathered in the sky. There was a downpour. Once again as the sky turned cerulean blue, clouds drifted away from life and life went back to pure bliss. Lovely Victor. All the Best !
