Killing, Dying For
it's overcast outside,
threatening rain;
she makes it through although
with so much pain;
she has just slain the snake
that killed her pup,
and though avenged, she falls,
cannot stand up;
she crawls back home to quench
at last her thirst,
to breathe her last right where
she breathed her first!
