Keeping It
Sorry that
Your heart got
Broken into.
Sorry that
You've been robbed.
Before they threw you
the ruins back
Sorry that
you're scared to
Let somebody make it stop.
I kept a photograph
You took
Of all of us.
Almost
Threw it in the trash
Hundreds of times
But ended up...
Keeping it.
If you ever
Let some other girl in
Another ocean girl who
Knows what she's getting into...
Let me, break in
Break in
And this time
Whatever I find
I'm keeping it...
The night the band played
I prayed
you'd dance with me
But you just talked.
In your head.
In your own world again.
I'll wait til you figure it out.
Always been here.
Waiting away...
You can take your time
Let me borrow little things
Here and there
See if I like
What you let me find.
You might think everything
Including me
Is temporary
Cuz that's all you've ever known...
But this time
whatever I find
Im keeping it
As mine
