I am currently trying to read, "Metamorphosis" and "The Trial" by Franz Kafka, - which complimented the thoughts and story in my poem, which may or may not be about Kafka. I usually have two books on the go at a time...a bit difficult at present with study and assessments.

One of my favourite writers is Haruki Murakami and my most loved story of his is "Kafka on the Shore". This spurred me on to find out who in 'reality' Kafka is...it is interesting to note the themes he covered and the details of his personal life. It is assumed he may have possessed SzPD. Few of Kafka's works were published during his lifetime.the story collections were published in literary magazines but received little public attention. In his will, Kafka instructed his executor and friend Max Brod to destroy his unfinished works, but Brod ignored these instructions (obviously a trusted friend, who saw the merit in the genius of his mind/writing and wanted to 'share' with other people). His work has influenced a vast range of writers, critics, artists, and philosophers during the 20th and 21st centuries. He loved women, sex and pornography, had many relationships, but failed to commit. Hmmm very interesting and complex character.
