My favorite hiding place is in the shadow
Of poetry where words trace out
A painting rich and alive like a van gogh
My favorite muse comes alive in the light
Where whispers of dawn sooth and calm
Breathing laughter through the starry night
My favorite flavor of imagination is captured
On the brilliant and vibrant hue of violet
Breaking across the mountain ridges, enraptured
My favorite sunrise, star and moon glow
Brightens my heart and thoughts with a halo
Of reflections dancing in a graceful feathery show
My favorite silence is between the twinkling
Caressing my senses with tender promises
Pressed between the pages of rain’s sprinkling
My favorite psalms and hymns revive my heart
With inspirational feelings and sparkling compassion
Reassuring me I can always make a brand new start
My favorite feelings bring with them warm belief
Beckoning to my spirit with hope, faith and love
Reminding me that there is a God who brings relief
My favorite breath of music breaking into song
Plays through me in sweet lyrics that ring so sincere
Lingering in my soul, filling me with kindness all lifelong
