Just Stating the Obvious- Poetry Contest
We attend our life gardens each day
with good seeds of ambition and hopes,
they will flourish for us- so we pray.
Do you know how they prosper my dears?
With the sunshine of radiant love,
and the moisture of falling wet tears.
We will nurture them fine with the swell
of bright hope for each new shining day,
and faith, drawn from our unfailing well.
Then, by weeding them daily, they should
give new seedlings space needed to grow-
by removing unwanted, dead, wood.
As our blooms open wide in the sun,
all their colors will blend full and bright.
We'll caress them so gently, each one.
Over summer, our gardens will spread
growing fuller in sunshine and rain-
never fearing the seasons ahead.
Filling spaces so barren before,
and accepting the autumn to come-
they will flourish and thrive even more.
Now, we know with the ending of fall-
during winter, our gardens will sleep-
to awake- rise again to spring's call!
