JUST POETRY

[Verse 1] Can you still remember How we used to burn? Every line we scribbled Made the whole world turn Crowds would fade around us But your eyes held the room We danced between the silence And lit up every tune [Pre-Chorus] You whispered freedom Right into my skin Every word you breathed Pulled me back in [Chorus] These hearts can beat again If we just find the flame Girl, breathe me in Let’s rewrite the name You never know unless you try This could be hello, not goodbye Let the rhythm pull us in These hearts can beat again We were more than love… We were just poetry [Verse 2] You were my island girl Waves crashed like our hearts Still we kept on painting Love in broken parts You were the canvas I was every line Creating something timeless Before we ran out of time [Pre-Chorus] There was no pretending Only raw and real Two open poems We could feel [Chorus] These hearts can beat again If we just find the flame Girl, breathe me in Let’s rewrite the name You never know unless you try This could be hello, not goodbye Let the rhythm pull us in These hearts can beat again We were more than love… We were just poetry [Bridge] Oh God, I’m breaking Down on the floor I see her in dreams Like we were before When I close my eyes I’m back at her shore Mouth to mouth, soul to soul Can’t lose her no more Her perfect lines Still haunt my skin I trace them slow Where we begin [Final Chorus – Lift] These hearts can beat again Girl, just say the word We can write the end Where it once got blurred You never know unless you try This could be hello, not goodbye Ink us deep beneath the skin These hearts can beat again We were more than love… We were just poetry [Outro – Whispered] Can you still remember... How it used to be? You and me… Just poetry… Let’s set it free.
