Just Like My Own Baby

The new lady in the nursing home put her pinkie up with tea She could not hear or see well, some thought she was not friendly. Thinking she was eight-years-old, she remembered ‘back in the day’. As the good times floated by her, she wished someone would stop to play. A nurse who took an interest brought the lady a soft baby doll. It meant the world to her, she loved its clothes and all. Just like my own baby, she said, giving it attention and a cuddle. We were glad she cheered up, even if her brain was muddled.
