Just Hold That Pen

Just hold your pen and let the ink flow, The writing is not from the wrist or elbow, Thoughts from heart go to brain to the pen, To print memories of life that’s been and done! Some moments of tears, or childhood laughter, Holding of hands, kisses, flowers you bought her, hardships of time and bad fate no doubt, friends and dear ones that time faded out! Never claim ownership of these words you create, written by your emotions that rise and abate, These are forces of nature that often blow, No different from hurricane, rain or snow! Just retire to your corner and pick up that pen, Let your thoughts go rushing out of their den, Watch the words that are scribbled by your mind, These are often memories that were left behind! Krish, There are times I wish I had written such words as yours, 'Never claim ownership of these words you create, written by your emotions that rise and abate,'...so glad for the memories we never left behind. -Richard

this is a clever way of thinking of how our memories come to us through poetry. Not for everyone, but at least for those of us at places like the Soup!!!
