Darkness fades into the mountains
Dreading the sigh of a summer sun, flickering
Raining down hope, happiness, heartfelt
Whispers of gentleness, reflecting
Joy that can’t be measured in inches
Joy that is only measured by the trembling
Clouds float silently, healing the heavens
With their tender gasps, their heavy praise
Making the creation moan with need
For the showers, the powers of nourishing
Blessings, brilliant – breathless sighs
Within the peaceful, azure skies
Glimpses of birds gliding, graceful
Making a way across the ecstasies, flames
Blue green and tangerine wings, soaring
In the fleeting moments, an inkling
Brief encounter with hurried, panting
Promises for more joy than I’ve ever known
Light fades into the blazing sunset
As it sets behind the ghastly mountains
Roaring oaks and dancing pines
Mouthing uproariously, shouts to the seas
From the mystery of ridges, edges
Blessed by the stars, the moon, the night
Aren’t we all like waning flames,
Rising toward the heavens, waving
Excited to be alive and narrowly escaping
The darkness – only to be startled
By the years, time flies and we appear
To have grown old – time to die, it seems…
Why? I have more dreams, more ideas, more to do…
Just breathe and believe!
