The mirror has never been my friend And the world just doesn’t care Little thought given to kindness or mindset Just what can be seen when they stare There’s so much below the surface I know that there is in me But I feel like I don’t measure up Not so much pretty to see How can we change the focus Or is what will be just what will be To search only diamonds and discard the rocks Just another pebble in the sea

The mirror never has been my friend either, and people stare at me. I am used to it now, but if I am perfectly honest... it's still unnerving. We are so far more than they see, Mike. This fills me with sadness, but it is so well written.
