Just a Note

Since I don't have premium membership now this is the only way I can get word out to my soup family.. Our daughter and her husband went to court today for a hearing about guardianship of Karter.. The judge ruled in their(our daughter and husband) favor with them getting permanent guardianship until he(Karter) is 18 years old..The parents(biological parents) parental rights were not revoked and they were given orders by the court on items to get accomplished if they want to regain custody of Karter..They(the biological parents) will have a year to do that and in one year if they have not done what they are suppose to do then they(biological parents) will lose parental rights. Then our daughter and her husband can petition the court to adopt Karter.. I kept Karter today for them to go to court..He is a little handful but we love him.. Sara

I think I am not understanding this perfectly. You say they got the rights but if they don't do everything by a year from now, they will lose the rights and your daughter and husband can petition the court for adoption. how can they petition for adoption if they lose their rights? Are you talking about two different couples here? sorry I just didn't quite understand the message. I think it sounds good, right?

Our daughter is step-grandmother to Karter and she and her husband were granted custody of Karter until he is 18 years of age..However, Karter's biological mother and father will have a one year to accomplish all that the court said they had to do to be able to keep their parental rights and get Karter back in their care..I hope that is better or easier to understand..I am great grandmother..Sara

Sara, this is good news. I am happy for your son. He seems to be in the right hands.. Hope all works out for you.... My brother and his wife, were trying to get custody of their grand daughter after the mom, abandon her.... sadly The father had all rights to the child.... hugs.. Linda
