Just a Lonely Rose

On a forgotten grave, uncared for many years, laid a lonely rose put there by a stranger just passing by. Who out of the kindness of his tender heart had to do this kind deed for this poor old woman, who no one seemed to care about, until now that is. Written 5-23-11

this poem touches my heart... on how one soul can show so much kindness... And give light to the forgotten ones... a rose builds my spirit up all the time... @};-- take care and God bless,..p.d.

I love this one, James - it's so beautiful. It reminds me of a local legend - a girl died several hundred years ago and is buried on Dartmoor, but someone still places a rose on her grave (or so the story goes...) I imagine someone like your compassionate stranger - and generations of his family - are the ones.

Yes every graveyard has forgotten graves and it takes kind strangers to take a little care of them. Nicely done. Thank you James for your kind words about my picnic for the little critters. Love, Joyce

This is very sweet. It's so sad to go to a cemetary and see plots with no flowers or anything on them but the name. So sad. This was a great piece. Great job, my friend.
