Journal
With a glance, look out
the window, at the
radiance of snow
dance in the cold wind.
Drawing a deep breath,
the tears flow freely,
finding love once more,
is impossible.
I had slammed the door
shut to everyone.
I grieved deeply for
your loss and our love.
After the last few
years enduring loss
and heartache, I find
no peace in slumber.
I lie in bed each
night and imagine
lying in your arms.
Reaching over to
my journal once more,
open and flipping
to the last entry.
I pause to think of
what is in my heart.
I write to remind
me of you, the path
our deep love had forged.
Getting easier
to face each sunrise.
