John's Aramis

Intoxicating was his scent Many hard-earned dollars were spent To evoke his bliss Give him Aramis Young and poor, we were newleyweds Memories linger in my head This scent was so strong But to him it belonged And through time I travel today When e’er Aramis wafts my way Sad tears gently rise John’s scent fills my eyes Another dimension I seek Longing to hear my husband speak We'll meet again one day Faith brings hope my way

Aww, how lovely that the aftershave can bring back such lovely memories for you. It's probably a daft idea, but have you ever thought of buying some and putting a few drops on, say, your pillowcase to comfort you when you feel down? I rarely get round to reading blogs - although I looked out for yours. I'm glad I wasn't the only one to enter a poem that was too short (and thanks for the compliment x) I smiled at James' Semaj - Kcaj wouldn't look as cool, would it? LOL

So sorry for your loss Carolyn. I firmly believe, because God has proven it over and over, that everything happens for a reason, and for the betterment of those that have the courage and faith to acknowledge that, and then to expect and look for the wonderful blessing that will rise from the ashes of adversity.

Carolyn, This is really scary my wfe bought ARAMIS for me when we got married 3/69. It is her favorite for all the same reasons and of course the name is John. By the way you are on the bubble for a Narrative. All the best, JT

I believe I will have to buy some Aramis. Though I have never used the product, your beautifully written muse does make it inticing. The second stanza is magnificent. Mac

A beautiful Poem, Carolyn! it is often a scent that triggers the most powerful memories. Glad you like "Pinholes". I wrote it some years ago, after our Pastor told us the story of how a little girl saw the stars as pinholes in God's blanket. He had just returned from a year's sabbatical in the US, so it looks as if the idea has now done a round-trip!
