Jim’s fingers are grimy, oh dear He has a solution I hear As Jim loves to bake Scone mixture he’ll make Of his cakes I am steering clear! Jan’s in a bit of a jam My microwave’s a sticky mess Strawberry pulp’s splashed on my dress I must find a programme On how to make fruit jam Mine’s dreadful I’ve gotta confess Written after I did gardening this morning… and then baked scones go with my paltry effort of attempting to make strawberry jam in the microwave. It boiled over and was everywhere was covered with a gloopy mess , took me 20 mins to clean up but I retrieved what I could and boiled it and made some passable fruit conserve 06/26/20

Hello Jan … the proof is in the pudding on how great a cook you are. If it tastes great, it is great - bye Jan - Lindsay

Ooohoohoo!I think the old fashioned way is the best Jan. Cook it on the stove the slow way. My husband says it best. Stick to the tried and true methods. If it ain't broke don't fix it. God Bless and a fun read . JB

Shame Jan, I sympathize with you cleaning up a messy kitchen is the worst. And jam make a gooey mess, oh well all all's well that ends well as you say you did make a passable fruit, I'm sure it was better than passable. We had guests one evening, and as I was bringing out my apple crackle to the table i tripped and the bowl landed on my guests lap, I was terribly embarrassed. Hugs, Jennifer.

Haha, why is it the stuff that's hardest to clean that explodes in the microwave, at least you managed to salvage something. Bet it tasted delicious. Tom

I have made many of things in my lifetime but these are two things I have not tried yet... think I will make my own scones if I want them after that pick matched with your words lol... now I will wonder whenever I eat something I did not make what the person's hands were like... cute limericks! hugs

I am not brave enough to attempt either scones or jam from scratch, but I have had things boil over in the microwave, so sorry for your sticky mess!

That's fun. My wife makes freezer jam, and it's amazing. And I make English Muffins, not too shabby.
