Sold my watch to buy hundreds of bucks

   For gooey lotto dream spin

   And proclaimed I was all in...

Lottery tickets are the biggest betting long shots anybody can take. That is why groups of people (usually co-workers) pool their money and buy large numbers of tickets. If they have a winner, they split the amount evenly among themselves. Good limerick.
