Listen to poem:

Its brains, the Sapiophile

So I added a new word to my description of self
Sapiophile, romantically attracted to intelligence wealth

If you are smart and have that laser keen mind
I want to know you, explore you deeper in kind

I enjoy finding out the things that make you tick
your accomplishments, your passions, your bucket list

It is a discovery for me and the deepest of sharing
and after that deep intellectual exchange it leads to caring

So if you want the keys to me, the thing that drops me into the emotional being, And gets me past the logical, philosophic seeing

Able to drop into feeling space
and more similar to the rest of the human race

Its brains.

Its brains, the Sapiophile  - Artimus (C) Susan Manley 2/05/23 12:03 PM

P.S. I give good brain :D

Dear Susan, Your poem is a bold and self-aware exploration of your attraction to intelligence. I love your enthusiasm for exploring the depths of someone's mind and passions and finding connections. Intellectual compatibility is essential, also emotional connection can blossom from shared values, vulnerability, and empathy. You've sparked an exciting conversation about what makes connections meaningful. Wonderful Poem! - Blessings, Daniel

Thanks Daniel, I recently had to write a profile for dating and it made me turn inward to what really was I attracted to. And yeah I write poetry around the subjects I am dealing with or think about. Its just my nature. Some of them more abstract then others, and some very direct.

Intelligence is very attractive, I always like that in a potential partner.. thankfully, I have an intelligent one, who can act a bit dumb sometimes, but its cute, so she gets away with ... its all about patience and loving those for who they are, but also finding the best match...

Sometimes we have to act uninformed to get past the gate keepers in life. ( sadly). It does not work out so well in ongoing relationships though. LOL And.. My therapist has asked me in the past, "how can you not know that, as smart as you are". And I had to tell her directly , just because I am smart, I don't know everything. Though some smart people do mark themselves as experts on any subject ( which is annoying and usually B*llsh*T. I kinda like to kick those folks butts. As always I appreciate your feedback. - Susan
