I wrote this Tanka after reading Brian Strand's current blog post and poem, "TANKA show tell COLLECTION." These helped me appreciate the English-style Tanka even more and not be tied down to the 5 7 5 7 7 form. My poem doesn't follow the 5 7 5 7 7 form, but it's a Tanka too. ;-)
