It Happens In An Instant

It happens in an instant
There’s barely time to react
It’s like a bolt of lightning
Rolling thunder, sunlight
Silently screaming your fate
It’s sent from the heavens
There’s nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
It slices through your body
You feel paralyzed, ecstasy
Everything moves quickly
In slow motion, your pulse quickens
You stare with your eyes closed
It’s a kaleidoscope
Vivid colors, mainly black and white
Your entire life flashes before you
Like a silent movie, it speaks loudly
Like a bolt, it penetrates
You never had a chance
You’re in love

Congratulations on having your poem featured this week. This is a great way to describe how love strikes us all suddenly.
