It Can Never Happen Again

The mother fox and her kits froze to death in the fall. It was an ice storm, and there was no shelter at all. Mother fox hoped that she would outlive her kits actually. Not realizing that death is a much better life than she could see. The forest fey recognized the spirit fox and her darling young. They watched them frolic in the warmth of the October sun. Remember when they froze to death? The robins asked the wren. Yes, I do, the wren replied. But now it can never happen again!

I love all animals. I always feel sad when I see one beside the road, dead or a frozen corpse of a fox or another animal.
