Isn't that what it's all about?

Some times when problems abound and your approval ratings keep going way down. Reporters nipping at your heels like hungry hounds, questioning your judgement, if your still mentally sound. Years of accomplishments tossed in a lost and found. Many a lesser man would discourage and just get out of town, but you danced the Hokey Pokey and you never once fell down. The people all took notice. It was most profound. " You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out, you put your right foot in and you shake it all about. You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about."

I do not know why was I reminded of the president in 'Maid in Manhattan' here. lol!! There's good imagery there, in those lines.

Hi Nancy: I love this poem; it is simple yet entertaining; I love to read things that makes me, laugh, think, ponder, smile, cry and those that are thought provoking takes me out into the deep. That is what a good work of art is supposed to do. Please Keep on writing.

Thank you Christine. This was just a simple write but I did feel that our President did "turn himself around" after the state of Union and the childhood song came in my mind. I appreciate your visit and kind words.

You are a keen observer, Nancy. I watched that speech with great admiration for the leader. I was a bit worried but he has the right touch. Can't believe after so many accomplishments in less that four years, he doesn't get a break.

Hi Vijay, I guess many don't have confidence in a seasoned politician. His age is concerning of course as well as the border problem. We do have problems but we did three years ago also with a president that cozy's up to autocrats, denies global warning, etc. It doesn't make much sense to disregard President Biden's accomplishments.

People are hateful and disrespectful to leaders in our day. The Bible admonishes is to respect leaders, even when their conduct is less than admirable. Those last two lines are cute
