Is There Something On Your Mind
So many days we have not talked, I surely felt a shift
cause when we fin’ly did today, I failed to get the drift.
I think there’s something missing now. In my room all alone
did I just see the change in you that chilled me to my bone.
I used to guess before you speak what you’d be saying next,
it’s no longer the same it’s hard just to decipher text.
There’s sadness in your eyes this time and you no longer care
I got myself a new hairstyle but I lost all my hair.
Now even my little attempts at humor would be met
either by non-comment or worse, “How corny can you get?”
Your eyes would always brighten up, you used to smile at me;
but now you get cross-eyed and weird when it’s me that you see.
You used to hug me all the time as river does the ground
the air between us now is stale, no passion can be found.
Do you now look far into space, or possibility
of life tomorrow full of glee, a life where there's no me.
Do you recall the day we met, when you were so cock sure,
you did not see I'd wreak havoc to the lovely structure
of your orderly life when you thought it’s just a detour;
now that by dawn the passion’s gone, do you just say ”bonjour”?
The whirlwind called romance just left, you have put up the mast;
you’re set to sail, crude tongue till last, you say we had a blast!
Well, poison’s in the juice you drank, please don’t think it’s unkind.
An antidote? Why my dear, is there something on your mind?
