Notes About The Poem

Is There Light Lord - Will Man Survive

*******

There is a darkness over our land,
an evil force bring grief to man.
It smothers the senses to the core.
Friends we have known, are no more.

I'm not going to say its name,
as it will only lead to more pain
      Shuddering thoughts: will man thrive?
Is there light, Lord ? Will man survive?

I traveled to the house of death.
Paying respect, as this evil has taken my friends last breath.
Will I ever feel the warm sunshine again?
Can happiness be found in the rain?

      Dear Lord, Hear my cries!
Please protect man, so no more will die.
      From this sickness and pain,
"Covid" - now you know its evil name.

Is there light Lord ? Will man survive.

The whole world is in the clutches of this evil monster ! Now a deadlier variant 'Omicron' is plaguing the south African states. Only God can can save us. Your fear is the fear of the whole of mankind.... Well expressed, Debra !

There are many plagues in the bible, Debra, so we can live in hope, that we'll come out of this, the power i still believe is within us.. Excellent poetry, it takes the reader right there, to the pit of despair

Haunting poem, Debra... I've been spared knowing anyone personally who's died of it. Lucky me... It seems to be a message from up Above. Maybe we humans to take a step back, listen, reflect and introspect. ~ Just sayin'

Hi! Gershon, You have been Blessed not to know anyone that has had it. I believe God sending warnings, this Virus is happening all over the world. 2 Chronicles 7:14 comes to mind. Blessings ~ Debra

Debra, I just wrote a poem "death is an interval" not the real event. But yes, a part of us must be human and grieve, but what about Eternity? What about the message that Jesus did not stay in the grave; that the Tomb (of Aramathea's) is empty. And we have peace in Shalom, shalom
