Is It Because

Tell me why you diss me, Don't say it's because I'm black. Why you make those snide remarks, While hiding behind my back. I'm just like you, In many a way. I go to work, I earn my pay. I love my children, I love my wife. I work real hard, To build a good life. So tell me why you diss me, Don't say it's because I'm black. Please don't make those snide remarks, While hiding behind my back. Why don't you just come over, Say hello to me. Then you might realise, What good friends we could be. 29/6/2022

Hi Simon. My childhood was never filled with hurtful remarks about others and my family non-judgmental about color, weight, looks, or really anything. We just were...and we had many friends. Your poem emphasizes the true values. Stay true! Linda
