Irreplaceable You

oh to wish for a friend as true as you one to laugh or cry with who holds value who knows the answers to questions i seek that will carry me when i am too weak one who trusts my shoulder to bear their pain when life surrounds them in a pelting rain one who knows i will catch them if they fall and build them back up if they should feel small one who would call me regardless the time and never doubt that it's for a lifetime this friendship would never be a contest among others to fight to be the best one like you who will remain in my heart when death comes calling to tear us apart December 5, 2019 Best friends poetry contest Sponsored by Regina Riddle

Thank you so much Juliet...i will never be able to replace her and though she was a good many years older than i, we were inseparable ... she taught me how to cook some pa dutch recipes, i taught her to cook italian, and how to bake pies, her and i even tore car engines apart together... she was a gem...hugs

thank you so much we were inseparable and even when i moved away we still talked, still got together, still made meals together and picked up where we left off...she passed away ...sadly...there will never be another her... hugs

To have that one, true, best friend is one of the greatest gifts we could ever receive. It seems to be a lost art though anymore. This was beautiful my friend, sadly beautiful. Your heart really shines in this wonderful sonnet about a friend. Best wishes in the contest.
