Irony
they
fought a
millienium
to be free
from
hegmony,
a republic of
equal
hearts
inked in blood
of history;
Free
to be,
did not last,
no matter
the struggles
of the past
Hedged in,
freedom
could not be,
emeshed
by tentacles
'cross
another sea.
