***************************************************************
Why can’t thoughts running circles in my mind
always be peaceful, decent, and refined?
Intrusive thoughts that make me feel ashamed
may settle in, and youth cannot be blamed,
for I am well beyond my “best by” date!
Though I’m past seventy, it’s not too late
to notice men, those easy on the eyes,
the single ones, like me. I fantasize
about . . . these daydreams lead to red-faced sighs.
