Wikipedia describes intransigence as
"refusal to change one's views."
A trait that people of faith
are prone to demonstrate if put to the test.
Don't get me wrong,
obstinance is not a bad thing,
merely a form of thinking that is resolute,
a stone pillar that will not bend.
If one honestly believes God exists,
there is no compromise;
that faith is absolute.
Their belief includes a soul
and they'll defend that with their life,
regardless of questions raised.
They contend that the truth is tethered
to the soul and anchored in the heart,
of a true believer.
So, they remain intransigence
and will never give way,
fearing it may cost them eternity.
