I had one like this so long ago, it was intoxicating but she was poison, found out too late! Well said dear Bard!

Sad truth is far too many are addicted and not only ruin their own life but also do such to others, especially their own family. Your final admonishment is on the mark my friend. Your imagery in this short piece is superb.....

Well my friend, in that sad truth that you relayed to Panagiota, you and I both have suffered immensely. In my case that passion almost ended me, but my faith and great belief in divine mercy, saved me..

Thank you so much, Robert - this poem is about love-making and passion, however, NOT alcohol ... I thought the photo would intimate that, but not everyone sees the photos, I guess. As I told Panagiota, I have changed the title as it seems to have been misleading, (it was metaphorical, not literal). Blessings, Brother! :o)

Good heavens! I just read another poem about alcohol. Not downing your poem at all. Just odd. Maybe Valentine's Day has us ponder drinking! I don't know. I do know alcohol is a depressant and a drug. It's nothing to fool with. It's dangerous stuff.. Dynamite to the brain, soul and relationships. And destroys the liver...Panagiota xx

As irony would have it, however, I am a recovered addict, though I never had an issue with alcohol. Blessings! <3

Thank you for your comments, Panagiota! This poem is not about alcohol, but rather undeniable passion for a woman who was unhealthy for me, (in a number of ways). I have changed the title as I think it was misleading. Thank you for reading and commenting! :o) <3

My friend, your words ring so true. Many a life has been ruined by those addicted to alcohol. I have had friends that have died from that fatal disease.
