Integrity

INTEGRITY

Integrity is being true to yourself,
And having the courage
To admit when you are wrong.

It is choosing to do what is right,
In a world that's full of deceit and deception,
And stand firm in what you believe in.

It is being humble,
And treating others with respect
No matter who they are.

Integrity is something you're not born with,
It is something that is learned over time,
And is embedded in your heart.

Integrity is not focusing on who you are.
Or what you can gain from the world,
It is what you can give to the world
With truthfulness and faith in God.

Great words of wisdom, integrity is so important, it is not just something we have it's who we become, hence a similar word taken from the same root, integral it's a wholeness or oneness, great job thanks for posting this beauty, will look up more of your works!

Wonderful poem with moral key, caro Don Pettinelli. I also visited other verses with the feeling I entered in a season of Botticelli. I enjoyed Sasha, too.I feel as a humble bumble flying around lovely verses-flowers full of honey. Best regards and wishes.

I went rhrogh your poem integrity as it was sent to me by poetry soup for a review. As a poet, I am not happy with it's structure and message: it was a stereotypical and boring statement for me! It's not having any experiencial elements that can give "life" or "soul" to any modern poem. But the strange thing is: when I read another poem written by you, I came to value you as a poetic entity with good artistic stuff: I am talking about your experiencial depiction with your coffee cup. Thank you.

Exceptional verse delivering a well timed and absolute truth... Our father taught us that maintaining ones personal integrity was the cornerstone to being deservedly respected and successful. A fav..

Thank you for liking my poem. The foundation for my high Integrity was started as a child. It was taught to me by the best Grandmother in the world. About half of my poetry is inspirational. Thank You.

My father's greatest virtue--integrity. A virtue I aspire to as well. You have captured it skillfully in your writing.
