Integrity

INTEGRITY
 
Integrity is being true to yourself,
And having the courage
To admit when you are wrong.

It is choosing to do what is right,
In a world that's full of deceit and deception,
And stand firm in what you believe in.

It is being humble,
And treating others with respect
No matter who they are.

Integrity is something you're not born with,
It is something that is learned over time,
And is embedded in your heart.

Integrity is not focusing on who you are.
Or what you can gain from the world,
It is what you can give to the world
With truthfulness and faith in God.

As a poet, I am not happy with it's structure and message: it was a stereotypical and boring statement for me! It's not having any experiencial elements that can give "life" or "soul" to any modern poem. But the strange thing is: when I read another poem written by you, I came to value you as a poetic entity with good artistic stuff: I am talking about your experiencial depiction with your coffee cup. Thank you.
