Inside Your Eyes
Inside Your Eyes
(inspired by Glenn Hughes’ “Written All Over Your Face”)
You told your lies,
your many lies.
This woman cries and cries
because at last she’s finally seen
deep inside your eyes.
I can’t believe I took so long
to write the lyrics
to this song,
but I can see inside your eyes
how much you’ve done me wrong.
Chorus:
You’ve done me wrong.
You’ve done me wrong.
How easily I see -
inside your eyes,
your wicked eyes!
And now I am set free.
Sweet memories are now erased.
This woman that
you had embraced
has found you out
and found her way.
The truth of you she’s faced.
And so this song to you I sing.
It’s strange because
I feel no sting.
You walk away. Into the dirt
the ring you gave me
I now fling.
Chorus:
you’ve done me wrong
You’ve done me wrong.
How easily I see -
inside your eyes,
your wicked eyes!
