Innocent Romance
They had the most innocent relationship.
It was 1963, when times were different.
People were courteous and respectful.
Families ate dinner together.
Their picnic at the beach was enjoyable.
They gave each other moon eyes,
Held hands under the moonlight
Enjoyed each other’s stories and spoke of their future
It did not work out for them
But they remembered each other fondly
Her mother’s roast beef sandwiches and cherry pie
And his father’s advice to stay respectful and kind.
