Infinite love, infinite mercy, Infinite grace to your chosen ones, How could our finite minds ever fathom Your infinite love for us? Silent the skies in the beginning, Words of creation poured from your tongue, All to reveal your eternal purpose, Your infinite love for us. Prophets had long told of your coming, Long had your own awaited your birth, Long had the angels echoed your glory Your infinite love for us. Born in the cold, cattle were feeding, Full was the inn; too full for God’s Son, How could our finite hearts have the room for Your infinite love for us? Perfect in birth, perfect in living, Perfect obedience – death on the cross, Only in Jesus can we discover God's infinite love for us.

you chose your verse very wisely for him, John. I need to look up all my religious type poems never entered in his contests, but I think I only have some for Xmas and EAster!! he would not like my free verse musings on religions in general. by the way, this poem is very well written. Congrats on the win.

John, so elegant! I love the repeating refrain, the flowing meter, all of the Old Testament covenant promises crafted into your verses to be fulfilled in the last stanza. Congratulations on your win! Beautiful statement of faith, my friend!

Aren't all musicians night owls (or is it vice versa?) Yes, I play piano and guitar, and started writing songs at 17. Recently, the songwriting has taken a back seat to poetry. I know you write songs, do you also play an instrument?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I guess one night owl knows another! At two years old my family stopped giving me naps as I would be up all night! Is this poem set to music? Are you, among your many talents, also a musician? It would make sense as your poems flow like lyrics!
