Inclination Combed Your Eyes

where you must float around me a snapped stone melted into that bottom of water glass beside myself, drift currents it shattered up to sunrise and rippled through my shirt for my heart with blue lows drawing from sea with her fingerprints a million shores leading out the more you ebb than ~our ebb~ we feel a thousand lifetimes same reflections in our gills

So many times I have felt like a stone skipped over water. Just to stop dead in my tracks and sink. To the bottom of something, only to look up like a fish that doesn't need to breathe. I have always wished that I could write in Mandarin. I like the fact that it has no rhyme pattern that says so much. Without it. Warmly A.S.

Dear paige, this is so very well written and I absolutely love your use of metaphors in this form too! So many lines stood out for me such as “ it shattered up to sunrise and rippled through my shirt for my heart with blue lows drawing from sea with her fingerprints“ so deeply moving and soulful! How descriptive you are! Truly you can do any form and leave me still speechless! Pleasure reading this! Sending you light always

What a catchy title. Especially liked the second stanza.... rippled through my shirt. I never could come up with such a comparison. You always have an intriguing way with words.

I assume you wrote this poem after closing time. Pity. You could have got a placement.

Hey Victor, I didn't know this fit a contest. I was just writing and following my muse. I don't enter contests often- maybe I am shy, lol. :)
