In the Wilderness
In the midst of spacious green fields,
the green eyes watch & wait
They've planted seeds of discord that can't yield,
for they were sown with seething hate
Watch for the clever snakes in tall grass
looking to strike before you're warned
Expose wolves in sheep's clothing in a flash,
as they can't hide once they're shorn
We're torn between forces of dark & light
battling for our very souls
It's hard to maintain your cool in this heated fight
even if your emotions turn cold
The victor will be the one that's fed the most,
as both sides want to eat
I hope I continue to be a most gracious host
in the presence of a beast
