deep down a path in the forest it is quiet, distant and isolated from the world a small meadow of wildflowers sway in a breeze the birds are singing a symphony I hear the violins drifting among the gnarled trees a stream tinkles like bells being rung by angels I rest in the tranquility of nature the breeze caressing my soul and I feel wonderful time is far away, things to do put on hold, paused a gang of butterflies come fluttering like painted candy they drift and glide here and there then, are gone in one swift current of wind next comes a hummingbird I hear the whirling wings first as she stops for nectar as I admire her sparkling in the sun like multi mirrors I wish this interlude could last but life is calling so I must go but I know this place and will return often for a piece of tranquility

Your forest scenes are so enchanting, dear Constance ! I am sure in real life too, you make frequent wanderings into the hidden pockets of nature and enjoy the solitude there. "But life is calling" ! This line reminds me Frost's poem.... Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening !

Sometimes we must get away from the world and immerse ourselves in God’s nature. Very nice, Constance!

I found this poem stunning because I have a fondness for the tranquilty of nature. I love watching birds, etc. Your imagery captivated my heart. I especially liked 'a gang of butterflies.' My dad raised Monarchs and I would go with them when he released them...I marveled at what it did convinced I was witnessing a miracle
