In the Shadow of You

To see an old man and his muse
Sad, yet one day vie; and not care,
In his pen an ode to Ted Hughes
His way to say, ‘to you I share’
For you and I did not fuse
It was you so apt; had the flair,
For I am kin one to the booze
The one to let go sod the prayer.
Oh the joy and the accolade
The pen and ink of our decade
For you did win. For me the shade.
An ace in professoriate
Now you lie in aureate
For you are the laureate!

Touching sonnet, applauds on net. Wonderful accolade of lovely decade. Near Full Moon And Little Frieda, I also stayed, enjoying Ted horses-verses running like golden shadows to make room to noble poet Harry Horsman: The Child Is Father To The Man. Best regards and thanks for kind visit.

Harry, thanks so much for dropping by my page and reading my work about my mother's suicide..Well that is good contest entry..Reads like a winner to me..It seems kind of short but I guess the short words and less syllables per line makes a difference..Sara
