In the shadow of sunlight, I stand. Though it's only a sliver of hope, when life's darker days get out of hand, I must recon for somehow to cope. Like a lone beam that shines on the wall, in the shadow of sunlight, I stand; as the nightfall ends its darkest call for new sunshine of morning to land. The sea's glistening waves understand they're the glory that follows the storm. In the shadow of sunlight, I stand till my waves of new hopefulness form. Like a rainbow repaints a dark day and the new sky obeys its command; as it washes the rainstorm away- in the shadow of sunlight, I stand.
