In the Shadow of Both

When it comes to
Dark vs Light,
we find ourselves
somewhere in the shadows:
the only place
we can move about
with some semblance
of freedom--

not that dark is impenetrable
and light too fast, perhaps
fearing compromise…

Just the insufferable matter
of proper timing with balance:
spacing our notes best
(deciding what valleys and amplitudes)
while learning to sit
comfortable on a rabid beam--
still no cure
once the disease
takes hold….

At first I thought this poem was about Jungian shadows. And maybe it is. Your reference to disease (for me) is ambivalent. And I like it that way. Many wishes, Kai

Hi Kai; shadows, not too cold not too hot, a place where human consciousness has a chance for moderate understanding. I think Jung was a mystic at heart. A long time since I read anything by him, but recall liking what I had read, and I am certain a lot of it sunk in. Love your comments.
