In the Psalm of Your Hand

I am unable to earn your Salvation Lord.
Still you have blessed me, who is undeserving.
As a testament to your loving kindness,
my actions are my gift to You Lord.
I seek to find goodness in others.
When I can’t see goodness, I will look closer.
For you reside within my being
and I am gifted with Your Sacred Sight.

Hold me firmly in Your hands Lord
for my legs are not steady.
Whisper Your comforting words in my ear,
so that I am not consumed by my doubt.
Engrave Your Thoughts upon my being,
for I long to be in your presence.
Yes, when we are together,
I have no doubt that You are God.

Richard, this Psalm sounds like one that King David would have written. You have truly captured the essence of a Psalm in your beautiful statement of faith. Congratulations!

Hello Richard, beautiful Psalm, i so enjoyed reading it because i am to a Believer. Good luck. I have been away since a long time, as i left Montreal 3 years ago to come and live next to my 2 boys, I decided to end my last few years next to them, as i am 82 now. Keep writing you are amazing. Richard this poem is certainly worthy of this contest, but may i ask??? (A rhetorical question since I'm going to any how.) Richard, though many of your comments on mine imply an impish suggestive suggestion; I still get the impression that you are of some sort of a religious type. Now I don't mean that in a bad way Richard, just reading and observing; but would you mind defining yourself religiously/spiritually/or whatever you consider yourself to be. As I said, I will never be judgemental.

Hi Jeff, I am a Christian. I do not however subscribe to a holier than though approach. There are many aspects of humanity that a poet explores.
