In the Grass
Strolling through the country park, she got arrested,
By the beauty of the lawn with silky grass.
Sat on the cushioned comfort of the carpet of green.
No one around to disturb her calm.
The evening breeze was ruffling her hair.
She sat there looking up at the aqua teal sky,
With white fluffy clouds sailing by
Saw a pair of robins searching for worms.
They were combing every tuft of grass.
She was careful not to disturb them.
Sometime later she heard them winging away,
With a wriggling caterpillar in one of its beaks.
She thought how grass serves as a sanctuary,
To tiny forms of life like mantis, ants, and snails
She lost count of the time she has been there,
Enjoying the comfy softness under her thighs,
And the cool evening breeze caressing her.
She didn’t know the sun was about to set,
Spreading in the West an amber tint.
The purple shade was infiltrating into the sky,
Making it into an exquisite canvas of art.
Her face glinted in the slanting beams of the setting sun.
She closed her eyes in blissful abandon.
Laying her head on the velvety grass,
And dozed into the world of whimsical dreams!
