In the Arms of Night

Off a cliff into the abyss
freefalling as in a dream
I plummeted 
         down, 
                  down, 
                           down
down through life’s wormhole of time
straight into my lover’s open arms
as if awaiting right on cue
steady, strong, my guardian, my knight
