In Remembrance of My Wedding Day, June 5, 19--
When we met,
I was seventeen,
he was twenty.
We spent three years
together, happy to be free--
then suddenly it came to us,
why shouldn't we marry?
We loved each other very much,
so why tarry?
So June 5th we took
our solemn vows
that made us
husband and wife.
Then in a few years
we were Mother and Dad
to three fine children
who made our married life
very happy.
I was Mom and
he was Pappy!
