In Panic Mode

It's cold outside; it's raining very hard outside, Beth needs her parents, but she has much pride. Beth and her baby just finished their last food, the local shelter is full; she feels she’s screwed. She has some water and juice left, but not much, their home is their car, a stick with a bad clutch. The car is almost on E, but she has it on for heat, low on cash, how will she make ends meet? Baby girl is sleeping now, but she will wake soon, Then she’ll drive to the town food bank by noon. Panic sets in, the food bank turned her away the other day, because they ran out of food, next she starts to pray. *Inspired by the Panic At The Food bank Contest 08/06/2021

It’s a sad fact of life, there’s some who go hungry and those who have plenty, life just isn’t fair. All the best… Belle

So sad Alexis that many people less fortunate live that way, Your verse highlights that problem that shouldn't be allowed to happen in this day and age. Good luck in the contest. Tom

You bring a taste of reality to the fore Alexis, and it’s at this point your poems consequences unintentionally sends the commandments out the window, parents will do anything to feed their children, sorry if I read too much into your work, cheers David

You have accurately depicted food insecurity. I'm sure there are many individuals like this in the world. It's a pity Best wishes for a win.
