In Our Image

Let us make man in Our Image and God responded, then we must make him strong and healthy, respectful and kind, blind to color that is not of the fields and sky, let not his own varied pigments, be a mote in his own multi dimensional eye -- not a jealousy of another need make him sigh...love enough to keep him high -- let us give him a mind to reason, God said, mindful of all seasons of glorious changes, textures and temps – garments or lack of can be his warmth and vents – make his mind only pleasing – not a blossom should cause his sneezing, nor dust should phlegm and disgust – let us give him Free Will, and God said, Hmm...

a pleasureful read, Joe. You've carefully crafted 'man' from God's perspective. The ending says it all. Well done, Sara

Of course, you and I realize, five objects on a table, able to choose whichever one you want, is only an illusion of free will. Like a rat in a maze, passage he can choose, but he is still in someone else's maze. True free will would mean, the ability of infinite choice, infinite time and place, infinite substance (of any kind) to create with. Having the where-with-all, to even create and recreate ourselves. So...then...we do not have free will.... Unless? Unless?!! Perhaps we should rethink...were we made in His image? What do loving parents want for their children? For them have as much, to be as much -- or as great as their little hearts can dream? What is the image of God? Simply how He imagined us...or His likeness? Awesome potential and responsibility. I know, easier to say, God's mysterious will, than to say, we abused the privilege and created all messes ourselves.

Clever ending line, Joe. A thoughtful poem on man's attributes and man's image in eyes of God. Nicely delivered.

Hi Lise; well, if He did not have hesitation back when, I seriously wonder that He may be having second thoughts now:) Blessings my friend.
