Listen to poem:
Adrift in dreams while romance reading Asleep e're night shadows began creeping She lay puddled in moonlight's rising tide— Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' at her side In reverie, Elizabeth stood on the misty moor for what seemed to her a lifetime of waiting Held her breath when in front of her he stood Sighing as Darcy brushed a gentle kiss on her lips

You must be a fan of this show... I have to admit I have never watched any of it.. But there seems to be a lot of fans outside of the UK.... I guess romance is a universal language... A lovely poem full of sensuality and romance..

As long as your attention span gets you through writing your fine poetry, you've no need of spending time watching lengthy movies. ;-)

I think I may have watched it many many years ago... not for me to be honest, I am not a fan of period dramas and movies... Also, i have such a bad attention span, a two hour movie would not be a good idea...

I'm a fan of Jane Austen and the period romance novel she has so beautifully written. It's a classic, come to life for me. Thanks so much for the adjectives you've used to express what you thought of my poem. Take a sit for a couple of hours and watch the movie. There are several versions, but I prefer the one featuring Knightly and McFadyen ;-)

Dearest Lin, your poem In Moonlight's Rising Tide is so tenderly written with a dream like quality not to mention, you have the most beautiful voice to showcase your amazing talent. It's as much a pleasure to read your comments to me on these lines as it was to read your Chalice of a Selfish Heart, and then see it was awarded POTD. Thank you ever so much for the compliments offered. I'm Truly grateful, Danny.

Lin, this is so dreamy and cinematic—like a scene straight out of a period film! I especially loved “She lay puddled in moonlight’s rising tide” and “Held her breath when in front of her he stood”,such gentle, romantic imagery. You brought Austen’s world to life so impeccably.

The more we get to know each other, the more I see many facets in which we are alike, Ink. You are as sensitive as I am. That's not always a good thing because we get hurt so easily. But... we feel deeply about love and life. Hugs, sweet friend.

Lin, I think you get at how some of us seek romance as it is much more than animal attraction. I think those who realize that are lucky indeed although it seems to make life more difficult at least for a while and at some stages. Hope you are well and sending you SMILES! Your read of the poem is wonderful and would warm the hearts of those who hear and listen.

Treading through romance is more complicated than standing on a moor waiting for Mr. Right to come along. I loved the move version with Kiera Knightly and Matthew McFadyen. He is the personification of what Mr. Darcy would be for me. There's no easy course in love. Sometimes the current flows gently, sometimes rapids wash us overboard. Getting back in the boat is not always easy without the help of the other half of the partnership. Thanks a lot, Duke.
