(I had the pleasure of meeting Maya Angelou in the fall of 1987, when I was a freshman in college. I was at Castleton State College and she was a guest speaker. I will never forget the honor or meeting her and shaking her hand.)

“A wise woman wishes to be no one’s enemy; a wise woman refuses to be anyone’s victim.” - Maya Angelou The infamous feminist and activist Maya Angelou She was a powerful force to recon with and to know Her feminist and civil right beliefs were strongly expressed As she bravely spoke her mind to try put injustices to rest

Tania, thank-you for highlighting and praising this heroine in verse. Great that you had a chance to meet her. I see Castleton is famous for liberal arts and being a friendly environment...hope you enjoyed school...sounds like it was nice!! Smiles!!

Respected as all women should be. She spoke her mind as an activist and a poet, just as we all deserve to do without being belittled or demeaned. Thanks for your well-chosen words, Tania.
