standing in the sun laugh lines round her bright blue eyes - the cheerful sister the gloomy sister - lines etched deeply in her face - hangs back in shadows Inspired by the Contest of Rick Parise: "Shadows and Lines"

Ah the changing conditions of life. The use of the dash is inspired. thank you for commenting on my poem. I have been experimenting with style and this is one of my older ones. I needed to be grounded again. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent contrast between the sisters, Andrea. Some folks do seem to hang in the "shadows" and their faces reflect pain. Best wishes in Rick's contest! I think Brian's contest results get posted way far back because for some reason he is able to have deadlines just days after the posting while the rest of us adhere to the "one month" requirement. Brian wasn't here when the rule was changed and is probably not aware of this. Love, Carolyn
