Imagination Reigned Supreme Premiere Contest Winner

So long ago, so far away seems forever, we used to play Imagination reigned supreme You were Queen; I was King We ruled our world with gentle hand from highest mountain to desert sands You headed East; I traveled West Our greatest privilege, to grant requests Where fled our Kingdom? Why were we deposed? Imagination vibrant ~ now a withered rose November 21, 2019 'Favorite Poem from November, 2019 Contest' Sponsor: Julia Ward

Light, airy and whispy is this dreamlike childhood fantasy. Therein is the allure that pulls us in, I think. Well crafted, well deserved congratulations are certainly in order. Noting on how simple your form and wording is in this verse reminds me that crazy word play and muscular vocabulary are not necessary to a winning piece.

This is wonderfully imaginative, Gershon. Everything seems fine between the King and Queen, then their adult life kicks in and becomes sad. A never to be forgotten poem by me, wondering what went wrong between the brother and sister. Well done for the Trophy. After all, it was 50:1 chance of receipt in this contest of mine. // In your description of the poem, please change it to "Favourite Poem From November 2019".

Even a withered rose can inspire imagination of you let it. Nicely expressed my friend. Just because we get older doesn't mean our imagination does too.

Well, you're right. The imagination actually changes with age, I guess... The capacity for play gets beaten out of a lot of people, however (I think). Thanks, gw
